A Celebration of Life for Collin M. Githens, 35, of Ellensburg, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the Ellensburg Foursquare Church, 906 E. Mountain View Avenue in Ellensburg. Mr. Githens passed away unexpectedly at the KVH Hospital on December 15, 2018.
Collin was born on June 5, 1983 in Seattle, Washington to Bud & Diane (DeMaris) Githens. He grew up in Lynwood and graduated from Edmonds-Woodway High School in 2002. After high school, Collin began working towards earning his electricians license, a goal he was able to achieve in 2005. After licensure, Collin worked as an electrician in the Seattle area. He met Dorian Carolus one day at the gym and the two hit it off. They married on October 1, 2016 and moved to Ellensburg shortly thereafter where Collin opened his own electrical contracting business, North Cascade Electric.
Faith and family were very important to Collin and on November 21 of this year, he and Dorian were blessed by the birth of their daughter, Adelyn. He enjoyed spending time outdoors – hunting, camping, fishing and backpacking. He was also a member of the Ellensburg Foursquare Church.
Collin is survived by his wife, Dorian and daughter Adelyn at the family home in Ellensburg; parents Bud & Diane Githens of Lynwood; brother Andrew (Michelle) Githens and niece Hartley of Mercer Island.
Memorial contributions in Collin’s honor are suggested to a fund established at WSECU to provide ongoing support to his wife and daughter. Steward & Williams Funeral Home and Crematory of Ellensburg is caring for Collin’s family. Online condolences may be left at www.steward-williams.com
